Life is a series of choices.

Choose life. Choose focus. Choose joy.

Fibromyalgia is always there, as a dark element in the landscape of my life. I choose, however, to let my internal light shine brighter. To do that, I focus on the positive and what makes my heart, mind, body and soul feel uplifted. I am engaging in the choice of what I want in my life, what I want to put my primary focus on and what is bringing me joy. Each day is a new opportunity to do that.

Now don’t get me wrong, my life isn’t all sunshine and butterflies. I do understand, however, the need for positive in my mind. Some days it comes easily and my focus can be a broad, over-arching topic, while some days it is an hour by or hour or even minute by minute focus. The biggest thing for me is choosing what is bringing me joy, which supports that need for positive in my mind.

I really enjoy experiencing with my senses. The smell of honeysuckle on the breeze, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, the astounding variety in colors and textures in nature, and the list goes on and on. When life or fibromyalgia is trying to kick me in the pants, the senses are easier for me to narrow my focus on and find the moments of pleasure, happiness and joy, which help me to live my best fibro life.

So, what is it that inspires you? What can you choose to focus on that will help your heart, mind, body and soul feel uplifted? I challenge you to find something or things that can do that each day.
